Could they be caused by the flood also? Thank you for your masterful training. apprentice Daniel Daniel, the theory is that the mile-high thick layer of ice pushed down the ground, making depressions that later filled up with water after the Ice Age ended. We now call these the Great Lakes. Evo's believe this took a long time--we do not. All around the world, there would have been lots of gigantic "mega-puddles" left after the Flood. These would have caused many canyon-type erosional formations, when they later suddenly drained. The Great Lakes are different though--they did not appear until after the end of the Ice Age.
