Chromosome Fusion reader question
Dr. Jackson,
I am curious about the claim of chromosome 2 fusion in humans (from a supposed common ancestor with apes, resulting in the human chromosome number of 46 from the 48 in other primates). I know this was a big evo claim a while back, but I am wondering what the truth of the matter is. Obviously, if this were true, then it would require a fusion in at least two primates that would then reproduce, considering they were even fertile following the fusion. The probability of that has to be very small. I am wondering if there are things the evolutionists don't mention about the fusion or if it is another instance of trying to make something look like something it is not (e.g. pharyngeal "gill" slits!). Thanks for your help in presenting the truth.

Yeah Stephen, the problem with this simian 12/13 fusion to become human chromosome 2 ... is that there is no proof that these two chromosomes have ever fused in any monkey-kind -- ever -- at all -- in all of the history of their genome.
Of course, unless you -- already believe -- in Darwin anyway!
See, human chromosomes almost all do really look like monkey chromosomes -- no big surprise to the creationist, since God made us both look very much alike on the outside, too.
But... most all humans do have this chromosome 2 that looks very much like it used to be two separate chromosomes at one time in the human genetic past.
Big deal.
The problem -- for the evolutionist -- is this.
All humans show this fusion.
No monkeys do.
This is not evidence that we --are-- genetically related to the same heredity line of monkeys.
It is clearly evidence that -- we are not related.
None of them show the fusion. All of us do.
That is logical. We have always been separate from them and any changes in our genetic line would not ever show up in theirs ... like this fusion. Amen. DrJ

Pre-Adamites?
I have recently had a discussion with a Christian who has the belief of the existence of Pre-Adamites, a race of people that were created and wiped out before Adam. I don't know what his exact beliefs on the matter are.
He is very hard to have discussions with though since he has a doctorate in Theology and is fluent in Greek and Hebrew and says that he takes all of his ideas from the original text of the Bible.
I know a lot of the idea is stemmed from the fossil layer that supposedly dates back before the time of Adam and has human remnants within it.
I was wondering if you have any material discussing this belief system or have any response to this.

Casual Christmas?
There was a time in the 1970's when it was "cool" to be a born-again Jesus-person ... it lasted about a year. There were the hit songs "Going up to the Spirit in the Sky" and "Jesus is Just Alright with Me" and "The Lord's Prayer." Those were high times for us. And you didn't suffer so much for being a Christian. And many Christians had just a "loose faith" that didn't have to make up its mind about too many things, in order to exist and to survive. Not now. Not this year.
This Christmas finds Jesus-people at a point in history where -- there is no such thing as the casual Christian. The prophetic desire of Jesus is coming true "I would that you were hot or cold ... but you are lukewarm ... I will spew you out of my mouth."
There are quickly become only two kinds of Christians -- fake and real.
Are you playing Christian as much as you are playing Christmas this year?
Take advantage of the great opportunity to rave about singers springing the "Hallelujah Chorus" on shoppers. Say "Merry Christmas" and keep Jesus in it.
But once the holi-days are over ... take a look in the mirror and decide whether you are one of the fakes or the reals.
If you're a fake, you have an easy choice -- get real.
If you're a real, then you have a harder choice.
Does your stand mean that you believe the whole Bible or not?
Do you believe the anti-sense anti-logic presupposition-based time scales of the evo-atheists?
Or do you believe the history-based written record of the time scale found in the Bible?
Is Earth 4.6 billion years old, or is it 6014 years old?
This is an important question.
If you choose the world's time scale, be warned. It is inevitable -- your compromise will creep throughout your soul this Christmas like a blood poisoning. By the end of it's doing -- all of the vital organs of your faith-life will have been affected until you are useless.
Nearly every church or Christian group we go to ... has some leadership that contends for the worldly secular history -- against the Bible time-scale. It is a plague. Examine yourself for the symptoms.
Is there power in your walk?
Do you have the faith to pray the "desperate prayers" with the confidence of Hebrews 11:1?
Are people meeting Jesus when they meet you?
Are people getting saved?
Are you bearing the full fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22?
These are just a few of the many symptoms that a real Christian has become a useless one, through the selling of the power of God found in the Gospel (of which we must not be ashamed) in exchange for the acceptance of men (whose spirit strives always against the Kingdom of God).
As Billy Graham said, every hour is "The Hour of Decision." Make yours.

Thanks Ian, for this rebuttal source within the secular science community.
Ian Juby points out, the "new" DNA did not dissolve in water. If Arsenic (As) were in the backbone, it would have (instead of Phosphorus).
Even evo-stih PZ Myers says that the case for implications against religion in this matter is way "overstated."
This is of no concern nor import. Even if Arsenic in the DNA backbone were verified, it wouldn't proved evolution of life (just modification of it)
and it wouldn't prove extraterrestrial life (unless assuming that it didn't come from Earth is valid, even though we found it on Earth). Keep thinking. DrJ

"Sickle Cell Advantage?" from recent TX debate

Evo's teach students that the deadly mutation of a normal red blood-cell gene... is actually some kind of a "gift" to mankind, from the "bounty of evolution." It is not.
Sickle-cell Anemia is an accidental damage to the RBC gene.
People who have it are sick and can die.
They are born with this gene or are not born with it.
If they are homozygous (got it from both parents) it is practically a death sentence.
There is no new genetic information involved in Sickle-cell Anemia. It is an anemic condition resulting from the crashing of a normal gene. This has nothing to do with bacteria changing into people or any other such nonsense.
The deformed cells do make it difficult for the person to contract malaria... which is the only reason these individuals have any survival-of-the-fittest going for them... malaria-infested regions.
If destroying genes is all evolution is... then I believe (ha).
If that's all it is then... why don't all bacteria destroy all of their genes and rise up and become a superior species, more powerful than humans?
Sickle-cell as onward-and-upward evolution... is a profoundly stupid thing to teach to our college and high school science students.
As Nanny MacPhee would say, "Sad really. But there it is."
