Does the Bible say anything about dinosaurs roaming the earth? Thanks, Kaine
Kaine, it sure does. Only don't forget—the word "dinosaur" wasn't invented until 1841. So the Bible calls them "dragons"—or tanniyn in Hebrew. Some specific kinds are described in detail, but not by that name. Isa 30:6 mentions flying reptiles (though not technically in Order Dinosauria) in a list of exotic animals. Job 40:15 begins a long description of a sauropod (long-neck) dinosaur. They did roam the earth. They are in the Bible. But they are also in the legends of every ancient culture in the world. And they were on the Ark. Lots of things from the Ark are extinct now. Why all the dino's died out, and not the other reptiles is still a mystery ... both to creationists and evolutionists. Thanks for the question. Keep thinking. Dr J
