Team leader Prof. Tim White head of the Human Evolution Research Center at UCal-Berkeley "new" Ardipithecus ramidus "missing link" fossil "We can't say this species was a direct ancestor of modern humans, so we have to be careful." Yet Owen Lovejoy chair of Anthropology at Kent State boldly says, "We're going to have to rewrite the textbooks."(USA Today) But why? Dr. White says, Ardi's species could be the ancestor of Lucy, which could be the ancestor of humans ... Without additional fossil evidence, however, connecting the individual or dots is hazardous. (UCB news release 10/1/09 Lovejoy persists, this reverses the common wisdom of human origins. White boldly contradicts, “This is not that common ancestor but it’s the closest we have ever been able to come.”
Let's do a little "background check" on "Ardi." In 1992 the Ardipithecus ramidus tooth started the story. Like usual with all evo-finds headlines said they'd found yet another"missing link" triumph for the evo-story. Also like usual ... very soon after that ... her "link" status was quietly withdrawn. But now, all anybody remembers was the"triumph" part! Now, 17 years later, as though it's a "brand new fossil" evo's have hauled more new bones of the same monkey ... back into the headlines as "the real"link, calling it "Ardi" instead of A. ramidus, and then totally re-doing their evo-story to make to make it all fit together nicely. This is such propaganda!

And hey ... there's a chance I'll get to debate with an evo-prof on the radio in MD tomorrow ... about "Ardi." Pray this comes through! I'll give y'all the web address so you can listen live or listen later. God bless you all. And ... keep thinking !! Dr J
