Natural Selection & Species

Dear Dr Jackson, In biology this past semester I learned about evolution. In that section we learned about natural selection and speciation. I personally believed in that part of evolution, but I'm a christian. So i was wondering if that part of evolution is true and if it's ok to believe in that if i were a christian. thanks,Faith
Faith, natural selection is real. The word "species" has lost all specific meaning these days. Sure, Darwin's book is "The Origin of Species" but ... it really should be and could be titled, "The Origin of Orders" or "The Origin of Phyla" or "The Origin of Classes." Species and variety have been muddled, but the distinctions between Orders, Classes and Phyla are still clear.
